StreetPay Working for yourself?

Your team can get tipped again.

Nobody carries cash any more, and your staff feel it every day. StreetPay gives each worker a QR card so customers can tip or pay them straight from any banking app. No card machine, and no bank branch: a mobile wallet opens on any phone with an ID number.

Cash is disappearing. Your staff's income went with it.

Petrol attendants, car guards and car wash staff rely on tips. Most customers now carry nothing. They want to tip and they cannot. That money is simply lost, every shift, every day.

Three steps. Ten minutes per worker.

1

We set them up

We visit your site and set each worker up with a mobile wallet. They need an ID number and any phone. No branch visit, no paperwork, no smartphone.

2

They wear a card

Each worker gets a printed lanyard card with their photo, name and a QR code.

3

Customers pay them directly

A customer scans the card and pays from their own banking app. The money arrives in seconds, straight to the worker. They cash out at Pick n Pay, Shoprite, Spar, PEP or Boxer whenever they want.

See it working

This is a real card for a demonstration worker. Scan it off this screen with your phone camera, or open the page directly. Sipho is not a real person, so nothing is taken.

What a customer sees after scanning:

  • Who they are, where they work, and a badge confirming StreetPay issued the card.
  • A few sentences from the worker, in their own words.
  • The payment number, large, with a copy button.
  • Three steps, in English, isiZulu, Sesotho or Afrikaans.

How the money works

StreetPay never touches your staff's money. Customers pay each worker directly into that worker's own mobile wallet. We provide the card, the profile page and the setup. Nothing more. Your staff's earnings are theirs from the second they arrive.

We are new, and picking our first sites by hand

StreetPay started in Johannesburg in 2026. We have no wall of logos to show you and we are not going to invent one. We are taking on a small number of sites to begin with, so that we can set every worker up in person and be there when something goes wrong. If that suits you, get in touch. If you would rather wait until we are bigger, that is fair too.

Working for yourself?

Most of this page is written for a business signing up its staff. If nobody employs you, if you guard cars on a street or sell at a corner, you can sign up on your own. Same card, same page, same money straight to your phone.

Questions we get asked

What happens when a worker leaves?

Tell us and we take them off your account that day. You stop being billed for them at the end of that month. Their card stops working, so a card left in a drawer cannot be used by somebody else.

What if a card is lost or damaged?

We generate a new code, which kills the old card and tag immediately, and print a replacement. Their profile, their history and anything owed to them are all kept.

Is my staff's money safe?

It never comes near us. A customer pays that worker's own cellphone number directly from their banking app, bank to bank, and it lands in the worker's own account in seconds. StreetPay does not receive it, hold it or forward it, and takes nothing off it.

Do I have to do anything?

Almost nothing. We come to your site, set each worker up, and hand over the cards. After that the only thing that reaches you is one invoice a month.

What if a worker does not want to?

Then they do not. It is explained to them in their own language before anything is set up, and nobody is signed up who has not agreed. Any worker can ask to come off at any time and their details are removed the same day.

How do I stop?

Thirty days notice, by phone or in writing. There is no fixed term and no cancellation penalty. See the terms.

Does the customer need an app?

No. They use the banking app already on their phone. There is nothing to download, and they do not create an account with us.
